Romaine Patterson is the other half of the Derek & Romaine.
Over the years Romaine has change a lot but, still maintains her here sense of humor. Romaine has been a champion in the GLBT movement for a long time. Back in the year of 1998 Romaine's life would change forever and so the GLBT community. The death of her friend Matthew Shepard when he was beating to death because he was gay. The Shepard story has been told the award winning play The Laramie Project. The setting of this was not in some major city but part of the heartland of America the town was Laramie, Wyoming. Romaine story and his are tied in her biography and her book The Whole World Was Watching.
Romaine has work for GLAAD.
Romaine has ups and downs in her life but the big high was the birth of her daughter and her name sake other wise little Romaine also the her partner Iris.
But really Romaine has been a dear on the show even if her mouth gets her in trouble.
Romaine has a child like innocents that makes you love her even more.
